Mandy Waggoner, Consultant
Since 1996, Mandy has been a parent consultant with Project
CHOICES, working with school districts to increase opportunities
for children with disabilities to experience the general education
environment. Raising four children, one with autism, has given
Mandy the chance to work with the school systems from the
perspective of someone who's been there, done that... and with four
grandkids, two with autism, she gets to keep going there and doing
that all over again! One of Mandy's favorite areas to work in is
that of sensory environments for students, particularly those who
have characteristics of ASD. Setting up brain-friendly classroom
environments and helping teachers understand behavior stemming from
sensory issues is a passion that she enjoys sharing with teachers
and parents.
She is passionate about animal rights and has a house full of
"rescues"; seven dogs and six cats currently share her (thankfully
big!) house with Mandy, her husband Stan, and her son Shane. In the
spring, wildlife joins the fun- Mandy rehabilitates injured
critters of all sorts, so it's never dull! Her daughter and
grandkids live right next door, so there's always something
happening and lots of good times! Mandy can be reached at Awaggoner60@gmail.com or
