Chris Wasik, Consultant
Chris has been a CHOICES consultant for the past 6 years, and a
parent for 32 years. Raising a son with cognitive challenges has
provided the background information necessary to support the
families in Illinois who parent children with disabilities. Chris
has also been a family trainer for Family Matters Parent Training
and Information Center for the past 7 years, providing parent
training and staff training on disability topics throughout
northern Illinois.
Before joining Project CHOICES Chris owned and operated a
private preschool for 24 years. She lives in Peru with her husband
of 37 years, Rich. She enjoys parenting her two boys, Brett, a
veterinary specialist who resides in Dallas, Texas and Barry, who
lives in Peru and has worked at Hyvee for 9 years.
When Chris is not working, she is with her family and friends
golfing, boating and enjoying the sun. She is an avid "Cheesehead"
- Go Packers! An animal lover, her home includes two cats, Dr.
Suess and Swiffer Sweeper and three dogs, Sadie, Cassy and Dallas.
