Transition Rich IEPs — Measurable Post-School Goals Take the LeadSue Walter, Transition Consultant, Illinois State Board of Education
The core of a transition-rich IEP lies in a commitment to individual student strengths, preferences, interests and needs. Transition-rich IEPs create synergy among IEP team members and improve outcomes for students with disabilities by merging "compliance" with "best practice." This session will focus on the nuts and bolts of transition-rich IEPs, measurable post-school goals, transition services, completion of program and more. Some guided practice in developing measurable post-school goals and other transition plan components will be included. Participants will explore tools that can support their roles and will also explore effective transition practices and Indicator 13 resources.
